Celebrating Llewellyn, Now Leasing

We recently enjoyed a fun night celebrating the successful opening of Llewellyn—a new residential community just north of Downtown L.A., developed by Trammell Crow’s High Street Residential. Having been so intimately involved with this project from its earliest days, we are especially proud to see that the building’s first phase is already 90% leased.
Looking back, Altitude Design Office joined the Llewellyn project team early on and conducted research including stakeholder interviews, a review of the competitive landscape, neighborhood walking tours, and photo documentation, in order to dig deep into the project’s potential and to recommend a strategy that would position Llewellyn as a unique neighborhood hub and connector—positioning that is heralded today for bringing people together and building strong connections, even during an unexpected and unparalleled global pandemic.
Llewellyn sits on the former site of the Llewellyn Iron Works, which produced the iron and steel that built much of early Los Angeles. Inspired by that history, Altitude developed branding with a modern ease and sophistication that references the past, paralleling the building’s architectural and interior design and the neighborhood’s evolution. Every touchpoint, from the stationery system, social media and website, to the temporary Airstream trailer leasing office and permanent signage, feature the Altitude-designed logotype, logo mark, colors, fonts, and approach to photography.
It’s always fun and fulfilling to see projects like Llewellyn open and to see them come alive with activity—just as we’d imagined during the design process. Congratulations to the entire Llewellyn team!
