Two Altitude Projects Win LABJ Commercial Real Estate Awards

LOS ANGELES, February 24, 2020 – Altitude Design Office is honored to be part of the teams on two projects that received 2020 Commercial Real Estate Awards at the annual awards gala hosted by the L.A. Business Journal on February 18.
The Trust Building earned the Gold Award in the Best Redevelopment Project category. Altitude developed the wayfinding and signage design, and environmental graphics for this dramatic transformation of an early 20th century headquarters building into a modern mixed-use creative hub.
The residential and retail tower, Park Fifth, also took home the Silver Award in the Best Multi-Family Project category. Altitude developed the signage and wayfinding as well as environmental graphics.
Now serving as a mixed-use building, the revitalized Trust Building brings an art deco masterpiece back to life in downtown LA’s historic core. Developed by Rising Realty Partners, the 10-story building has been transformed by an estimated $40-million makeover, including modern earthquake safety standards and restored original features, such as gilded ceiling decorations that had been painted over in late 20th century renovations. The Trust Building has been retrofitted to appeal to modern creative while retaining its historic character and architectural details – offering newly enhanced retail spaces, a 4,000 square foot restaurant space, rooftop with city skyline views, as well as expansive creative offices. Collaborators include WeidnerCA, Gensler and the Architectural Resources Group.
Developed by MacFarlane Partners, Park Fifth is a 24-story apartment building that is located adjacent to the historic Pershing Square in downtown LA. The high-rise luxury building features 347 high-end apartment units, 5,300 square feet of ground floor retail, and a wide range of premium amenities, including a rooftop deck featuring 360-degree, panoramic views of downtown Los Angeles; infinity-edge pool with cabanas and hot tub; clubhouse with a bar, kitchen and pool table; state-of-the-art fitness center; onsite resident concierge services and a business center. Collaborators include Ankrom Moisan Architects and AD/S.
