Gracelight Community Health Opens with Expanded Services, Elevated Design

News & Insights

Altitude’s elevated, human-centered signage and wayfinding system reflects Gracelight’s commitment to compassionate care and the Los Angeles neighborhoods it serves.

For Gracelight Community Health’s new Hollywood location, Altitude focused on helping shape an experience that feels clear, welcoming, and deeply connected to the community it serves. Spanning two dedicated floors, the space was purpose-built to support high-quality, compassionate care, and our role was to ensure that patients could move through it with confidence, calm, and dignity.

Working with Boulder Associates in a compressed two-month timeline, we designed and delivered a comprehensive interior signage and wayfinding system ranging from code-required elements to large-scale, artistic brand expressions. Gracelight serves a diverse, multilingual population, and clarity was essential. We organized information deliberately, simplifying decision-making and reducing visual noise, while ensuring accessibility for Spanish, Russian, Armenian, and other language speakers.

Gracelight’s existing brand provided a strong foundation, which we extended across clinical and staff spaces. Each floor is anchored by a distinct brand color—green or blue—with magenta reserved for staff spaces, reinforcing both orientation and identity. Curved forms, wood accents, and carefully crafted details elevate the experience beyond that of a typical community clinic, aligning more closely with the warmth and ease of hospitality.

Large murals featuring map graphics of the surrounding neighborhoods offer a subtle but meaningful nod to place, grounding the space in its local context. From a welcoming entry wall to clear focal points along the patient journey, every element was designed to support ease, durability, and a sense of care—reflecting Gracelight’s mission and the people at the heart of it.
