Alexan Gallerie San Diego

San Diego, CA

Sophisticated signage and architectural graphics make a memorable mark on this new modern apartment community in one of San Diego’s most connected locations.

To create a welcoming sense of home in this new collection of urban apartments, Altitude transformed the client’s existing brand assets, originally designed for print and web applications, into something experiential and spatial. The “deconstructed deco” aesthetic is applied to exterior identity signage and interior architectural graphics, and to the wayfinding system that guides the resident experience from arrival at the property to their individual apartment home.

Alexan Gallerie brings a curated collection of luxurious, boutique hotel-inspired amenities, convenient comforts, and stylish design to the everyday living experience. You’ll find those amenities everywhere — from the luxe coworking space to the chic lounges and the fully-outfitted fitness studios to the abundance of posh outdoor social spaces. Inside and out, comfort comes with the territory.

With a design palette inspired by boutique hotels, the client sought to communicate a luxurious-yet-approachable feel that would reflect San Diego’s own urban coastal vibe. Altitude’s signage and graphics balance boldness with a subtle sophistication that’s consistent throughout the 284-unit community’s 5-acre site. Exterior identity signage is large and backlit, ensuring visibility from the popular Fashion Valley mall across the street and serving as memorable wayfinding for residents and guests. Throughout the interior spaces, clean and modern graphics are enhanced by refined fonts, rich hues, and metallic accents, ensuring that amenities and services are easily recognized and reached. A large custom-designed mural in the parking area sets the tone from the start, building excitement and welcoming potential residents as their leasing journey begins.
