Vivo on Harbor

Los Angeles, CA

As a culturally diverse community in Los Angeles with a unique, small-town feel, this new waterfront residential development boasts a strong identity and resident experience that includes branding, wayfinding and architectural signage by Altitude.

High Street Residential (HSR), a subsidiary of Trammell Crow Company, is developing Vivo on Harbor, a dynamic new 137-unit multifamily residential complex at the center of San Pedro’s Waterfront Arts District, adjacent to the expanded Port of Los Angeles.

Translating to “alive” in Spanish and “I live” in Italian, Vivo was named by Altitude to capture the vibrant and diverse essence of San Pedro and to honor HSR’s goal to nurture a genuine sense of belonging in this unique and cherished waterfront location along Harbor Boulevard.

Altitude has crafted a visual identity with a bold color palette of red, purple, black and gray that not only aligns with Vivo’s spirited and stylish brand positioning but also stands out from its neighborhood peers. Contemporary typography is grounded in classic typefaces to present a balanced and relaxed elegance, as the cohesive identity extends across multiple applications ranging from signage to sales collateral, online and in print. The letter “V” also becomes an icon on its own in marketing collateral, while the letter “O” informs the oval-shaped signage and graphics used throughout the eight-story property.

Altitude also designed the full range of architectural signage and wayfinding to ease the leasing experience and guide residents and guests from arrival to individual apartments, while simplifying and satisfying the clients’ code and safety requirements at the same time. Each of the development’s extensive amenities, such as ground floor retail, a rooftop clubhouse, waterfront-facing coworking space, a fourth-floor courtyard deck, fitness center, pet spa, bike room, and parking facilities, is highlighted with custom-designed graphics. These visually striking elements maximize visibility, clarity, and cohesiveness while enriching the brand’s artistic backdrop within this vibrant and creative community.
