MUFG

Various Locations

A unified system of workplace environments across MUFG’s national portfolio brings clarity and consistency to the employee experience, supporting a stronger connection to the company’s global brand.

MUFG set out to create a consistent, high-quality workplace experience across its U.S. office portfolio. The goal was clear: translate a global brand into environments that feel refined, legible, and aligned with the company’s values.

Across a range of conditions, from new construction to renovations, the challenge was to build a system that maintains consistency while adapting to each location. The environments needed to support employees, welcome guests, and reinforce a shared sense of culture and identity.

MUFG engaged Altitude to develop a comprehensive set of workplace brand standards to integrate its distinct identity into the built environment. Designed as both a framework and a working tool, the guidelines establish clear principles for how the brand is expressed at an architectural scale.

The flexible kit of parts includes signage, environmental graphics, and storytelling elements that extend across each workplace, from building exteriors and lobbies to work areas and amenity spaces. The system uses a disciplined palette, anchored by MUFG’s signature red, along with patterns informed by its Japanese heritage and global presence. Regionally relevant imagery connects each location to its local context while maintaining a consistent brand language.

For nearly a decade, Altitude has used these standards to lead the rollout and implementation of cohesive workplace environments across millions of square feet nationwide. The result is a clear, repeatable system that strengthens recognition, supports employee engagement, and brings consistency to a growing portfolio.

Altitude continues to support MUFG as a trusted partner, helping each new location deliver a workplace that is clear, consistent, and aligned with the brand.
