The Trust Building

Los Angeles, California

The dramatic transformation of an art deco icon turns it into a mixed-use hub in downtown L.A.’s historic core.

Now serving as a mixed-use building, the revitalized Trust Building brings an art deco masterpiece back to life in downtown LA’s historic core. Developed by Rising Realty Partners, the 10-story building dates back to the early 20th century when it served as the headquarters of the Title Insurance & Trust Company. Its transformation included the restoration of original features, such as gilded ceiling decorations that had been painted over in late 20th century renovations.

The goal of the estimated $40-million transformation has been to appeal to modern creative while retaining the building’s historic character and architectural details – offering newly enhanced retail spaces, a 4,000 square foot restaurant space, rooftop with city skyline views, as well as expansive creative offices.

Altitude developed the wayfinding and signage design, and environmental graphics, merging modern with tradition, creativity with consistency, offering guests a seamless experience throughout the multi-tenant space.
