The result included an updated signage and graphics program that brings the Vespera Resort brand to life with clarity and sophistication that elevates the guest experience with an inviting approachability.

Vespera Resort on Pismo Beach is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection of independent hotels, each thoughtfully designed to reflect its unique personality and location. So, it’s appropriate that a refreshed signage and graphics palette marries the region’s casual beach culture with the property’s relaxed residential style.

A new ground-mounted sign marks the primary Stimson Avenue entrance and brightens guests’ arrival. The star icon floats on the wall behind and creates a layered visual experience, while a vibrant wall mural at the valet drop-off reflects the picturesque waterfront setting of the resort.

To optimize exterior visibility, Altitude’s design team not only mapped common journey routes but also researched the local jurisdiction’s signage codes and made strategic recommendations for sign types and locations that would make Vespera Resort and its amenities more inviting to passersby on the popular adjacent Pismo Beach Pier and boardwalk. New signage on the exterior facing the active pier plaza identifies not only the hotel but also its restaurant, while totems on the boardwalk clearly indicate the public entrance and ensure the updated property and its food and beverage offerings are recognizable and memorable.

Throughout the property, the identity is more sophisticated and refined, and ultimately more impactful in identifying each amenity space with names and icons and guiding guests and visitors.
